REVIEW: Good Taiwanese food eatery in Singapore: Fong Sheng Hao 豐盛號 @ Serangoon Nex, Paya Lebar Quarters (PLQ), Westgate
Fong Sheng Hao 豐盛號 has been in Singapore for quite some time. I had no idea they were from Taiwan and were from the famed Shihlin night market. They are well-known for their charcoal-grilled sandwiches, as well as their braised pork rice.

Pork belly is simmered in a delicious, thick sauce of soy sauce, sugar, and five-spice powder before being smothered on top of rice. It also includes a braised egg and cucumbers. This was delicious and went nicely with the rice!
I also ordered the Pork and Egg Cheese 肉蛋起司 sandwich. The milk loaf used in this recipe was tender and charcoal-grilled. These sandwiches had a smoky flavor that gave them a pleasant, balanced aromatic taste. The in-house marinated pork loin was a little thin, but it was tasty and not chewy. The sandwich was complimented beautifully with melty cheese and soft fluffy eggs.
