I had to have their Hakka-style Braised Meat Rice, also known as lu rou fan because that’s what I’d have had in Taiwan.
This dish was served with pickled vegetables, a braised egg, cucumbers, and pearl rice. To be honest, the bowl was rather small, but it was filled to the brim, which was ideal for a petite eater like myself. 😌🤭
I had some trouble tossing everything together…
It’s incredibly satisfying to have so much fatty pork in one dish, and it’s also extremely flavorful. I like how they used preserved veggies to break through the heaviness and provide a lovely crunch to the meal. Though at $10, this was a tad costly given many hawker stalls also have the same standard.
