Decided on heading to Shrove Tuesday for dinner. I remembered eating there a long time ago but could not remember what their food taste like!

Quote from their website

Long ago, Shrove Tuesday is a day for feasting and having a good time! People flock to churches to confess the bad things they had done and would be ‘shriven’ or forgiven before the start of Lent (a period before Easter). Because rich food such as eggs, butter and milk were forbidden during Lent, one way of using them up would be to make, in our case, awesome Waffles, Pastries and Ice Cream!

The name Shrove denotes a period of cleansing, wherein a person brings their lusts and appetites under subjection through abstention and self-sacrifice. Nowadays, Shrove Tuesday has evolved into a day of frivolity and indulgence, during which people participate in as much pleasure and self-gratification as they can before Lent begins!

This is where they derive their name from.

Anyways I noticed that they do sell main dishes as well but their choices are limited! Do hope that they can include more dishes. If you read the above quote, you can see that they listed that they are selling AWESOME waffles, pastries, and ice cream! They do have different kinds of cakes, macaroons, coffee, tea, and other drinks.

Shrove Tuesday is located near Braddell MRT. It is approximately 5 minutes away from the MRT station. Alternatively, you can also take BUS 232 from Toa Payoh Bus Interchange and alight opposite Braddell MRT Station, You just need to cross the road and walk across the flats.

Address: Block 94 Toa Payoh Lorong 4 #01–32 Singapore 310094
Opening Hours: Sunday — Thursday: 10 am — 10 pm
Friday & Saturday : 10 am — 11 pm

Anyways this time around I had waffles with Madagascar vanilla gelato, rainbow cake, and chocolate molten lava cake.

The outer layer is charred with a visibly bitter taste with each bite into the waffle. The waffle was drizzled with chocolate and I feel that it brings out the bitter taste even more. As I take a bite into the waffle, I find that it lacks the fluffy texture that Sunday Folks produces, However, The Madagascar vanilla gelato was so good! I love it.

The rainbow cake was so photogenic but the taste is normal.

Didn’t like the molten lava cake too. I don’t usually eat chocolate cake and i find it too chocolaty for me.
