[SOUTH KOREA] CHANG HWA DANG — TRADITIONAL KOREAN FOOD IN ITAEWON HANNAMDONG
I always make kimchi fried rice at home for myself so I make it a point to try the authentic one in Korea when I am there. A well-fried plate of Kimchi Fried Rice with the distinct sourness of kimchi but could be more flavorful and spicy. The fried rice is stir-fried with kimchi and topped with a sunny side up and garnished with spring onions, seaweed and sesame.
We also ordered the sampler platter of the Korean style dumplings. This platter consists of meat dumpling, kimchi dumpling, prawn dumpling, grilled beef dumpling and capsicum dumpling. The dumplings were crispy on the outside and yummy on the inside. Each dumpling is packed full of ingredients. yum yum!
Chang Hwa Dang is located not far from c.through and is a small restaurant selling traditional Korean food. What I like about this place is it’s vintage style with tables made of classic Korean table tops and also isolated area cordoned by Traditional Korean doors. There are also 2 areas where it’s separated by curtains where you could have some intimate times with your loved ones. Chang Hwa Dang is also a chain outlet with branches in Hannam, Seocho, Yangjae, Yeonnam, Yeongdeungpo, Bongcheon, Ikseon-dong, or Daehakno, etc.
